ABOUT US

In Valmiera – the hometown of two-time Olympic champion Māris Štrombergs – BMX racing is full of energy and passion!

The Māris Štrombergs BMX Track is located within the Valmiera Olympic Centre sports complex, where the spirit of sport can be felt in every corner. Designed by experienced experts in Olympic track construction, the facility meets the highest standards and is currently one of the most advanced BMX venues in Europe.

The track layout is built to top-tier specifications – a 330-metre-long course featuring three start gates (at 8 m, 5 m, and 3 m heights) and two powerful start hills. The monolithic concrete surface on the start ramps ensures safe riding even in wet conditions, while the asphalted berms allow for precise cornering at high speeds.

The entire area spans over 12,000 m² and is divided into two main zones: the rider area, secured with safety fencing, and a visitor zone featuring a 2-metre-wide asphalt path – perfect for cycling, skating, or scootering enthusiasts.

The start building houses indoor training rooms, mechanical workshops for bike maintenance, lecture and relaxation spaces for athletes, storage areas, changing rooms, and coaches' workspaces.
