Rules for using bicycles and electric scooters in traffic in Valmiera
Safety rules are fully in effect during the UEC BMX European Championships in Valmiera.
Cycling on public roads is allowed independently from the age of 10.
Children under the age of 10 may only cycle when accompanied by an adult, and only on pavements, cycle paths, or areas where only bicycles and pedestrians are permitted. This rule applies regardless of the child’s exact age.
Wearing a helmet is mandatory for cyclists under the age of 17 (inclusive).
For electric scooter users, a helmet is required up to and including age 17.
Only one person is allowed per electric scooter. Riding with a passenger is not only prohibited but also highly dangerous for both riders and others around.
Please respect these simple rules during the event – let’s make sure the celebration is safe and enjoyable for everyone!
Let’s ride responsibly and look out for each other! Follow the rules, wear protective gear, and move safely through the city!
