On July 13 and 14, the best BMX cyclists will gather at the Maris Strombergs BMX track “Valmiera” to find out the winners of the 9th and 10th stages of the European Cup.
On Saturday, July 13, on the competition day of the ninth stage, elite, U23 and junior group athletes will go to the track. The finals are expected at noon, but later the 9th stage competition will be started by riders of the Cruiser and Challange categories. The same time schedule will be on the day of the 10th stage – July 14.
At the start, we will see the best drivers of Latvia, including the Latvian champion Kristens Krīgers, the World U23 Champion Veronika Monika Stūriška, as well as such well-known athletes as – Paula Kibare, Edgars Langmanis, Kārlis Pedraudzis and others.
The European Cup organized by the Union of European Cycling (UEC) is the largest and most prestigious BMX competition series in Europe, where athletes also fight for valuable UCI ranking points.
Entry to the competition for spectators on both Saturday and Sunday will be free.
Spectators of the competition are also provided with free parking. However, residents and guests of the city should expect traffic restrictions and changes in public transport schedules. Information about the changes will be available on the website of the Valmiera region and on teir social networks.
